Rectangular with four indented panels, aqua, tooled top with square band lip - smooth base, ht. 5 3/4 inches; (almost mint with faint orange peel surface and the usual light embossing). "BROWN'S / CELEBRATED / INDIAN HERB
BITTERS // PATENTED / FEB. 11 / 1868" American bitters bottle from the
1870's. Figural Indian Queen with sheared and rolled top, amber - smooth
base, ht. 12 inches; (an absolute perfect example with no lip chips, uneven
top is due to the shearing and rolling of the lip by the glassmaker).
Strongly embossed and nice medium amber coloration; this is the queen of the Indian bottles, a classic bitters bottle, and a great American figural. |

Rectangular with four indented panels, clear, early automatic bottle machine (ABM) with tooled square band lip and lower ring - smooth base, ht. 8 3/4 inches; (bottle is in mint condition, label shows some age browning and upper left hand corner has a very small piece missing). "HEALY & BIGELOW'S / KICKAPOO / INDIAN OIL" American medicine bottle from the 1890's. Round or cylinder shape, aqua, tooled top with round band and lower flare lip - smooth base, ht. 5 1/2 inches; (some very faint inside content stain mentioned only for accuracy, in manufacture open bubble or incomplete mold fill on front neck and lip). Healy & Bigelow made a lot of bottles and each one was hand made, as were the molds they were blown into. The mold maker misjudged the amount of room needed for the first line and had to ping out the "Y" and "&" of Healy & Bigelow. | M117 Price $35 | ||||||||||

"MODOC INDIAN OIL" American medicine bottle from the 1890's. Round or cylinder shape, light amethyst color, tooled top with square band lip - smooth base, ht. 6 1/4 inches; (very light inside stain and minor flea bite rough spot on lip). Hard to find Indian bottle with strong embossing. Would respond well to cleaning. |
